Bottle Caps

Bottle caps were the first objects that I started to collect as a material for art making. Due to its size and shape, the obvious way to apply a bottle cap to art is on a flat surface. In the beginning I made several sculptures that simply had bottle caps applied to the surfaces in a decorative manner. However, I was more intrigued with the idea of developing a technique with which to use the bottle cap to make complex three-dimensional forms inspired by nature.
