Metal Boxes

For the past five months or so I have been making metal box sculptures using scrap steel and random objects that I have been collecting for many years. The creation process is a lot of fun. First, I make the empty box by welding together pieces of steel from my scrap pile that I cut to make a unique box shape. Some are free-standing and some are wall-hanging. Once I finish the empty box, I then add decorative elements using my collection of found objects. Most of these objects are electrical hardware or used bike parts. I'm a big fan of gears. Below are pictures of one of my recent creations.
